What’s it like there?
Though the U.S. is nowhere near the Mediterranean, much of our West coast shares the climate that is often found there. The most distinctive characteristics of the Csa Köppen climate are its relatively hot dry summers and moderate wet winters. In winter, the average monthly temperature in this region never drops below freezing, 32 °F (0 °C). In Summer, at least one month has an average temperature above 72 °F (22 °C) and at least four months have an average temperature above 50°F (10 °C). Precipitation here is definitely seasonal. The total rainfall for the driest summer month is less than 1.2 inches (30 mm) while the total rainfall for the wettest winter month is at least 3.6 inches (90mm).
